A Design workspace

“I want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares.” — Saul Bass
I’m a designer, illustrator and unashamed coffee addict; keen on putting pixels and ink to work for designing experiences. My wife, Alex is a designer and a letterer, and we live in beautiful Sunset Beach, CA.
Currently designing at Envoy.
Object & Subject is an experiment of mine, it’s a design workspace by and for me. A portfolio of sorts, but also a home for my side projects and writing. The name represents a balance that I strive for in my work; between the visual world, and that of ideas. My aim is to see design as both a science and an art.
I wanted to challenge myself, and see if I could build my entire website, all on my own. This website is the result of that challenge, and is a first of many explorations in web design. Style sheets written in SASS (Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets), and processed/compressed into CSS via Guard Gem. Templates written with Liquid HTML. Managed and built using Siteleaf CMS. Grid system thanks to Bootstrap. Fonts from Typekit.
